Northern Adelaide Senior College provides high quality and accredited senior secondary school education for adults, with passionate teachers and skilled support staff, who help students plan their future.
All students enrolled at Northern Adelaide Senior College must be working towards completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
Students can choose from more than 80 courses and easily combine VET courses with SACE subjects.
The South Australian Certificate of Education or SACE is a nationally recognised achievement awarded to students who successfully complete their secondary schooling in South Australia.
The SACE is made up of two parts – Stage 1 (often completed in Year 11) and Stage 2 (completed in Year 12). For our students, Stage 1 and Stage 2 are usually completed over a few years, depending on each student’s study history, abilities and enrolment (e.g. part-time or full-time).
Many of our students will study a combination of Stage 1 and 2 subjects during a semester. You can choose from a mixture of subjects, including VET courses, which have assigned ‘credits’ at either Stage 1 or Stage 2. To obtain ‘credits’, you must pass each subject to the required standard. To achieve your SACE, you need a total of 200 ‘credits’.
To understand how the 200 ‘credits’ make up the SACE and which type of subjects you need to select, check out this summary.
We operate differently to mainstream schools and take into consideration your past history and experience when determining what you’ll need to study to achieve your SACE. This may mean that the compulsory subjects and requirements, as outlined in the infographic above, may not be applicable to you.
