What can we learn about the world by examining the experiences of others. How does language work in different contexts to drive our ideas as global citizens. Do we control language, or does language control us.

Course components:

  • A major focus on responding to films, stories, poetry, advertisements, web pages and other language rich mediums
  • Create your own stories through a range of different text types, including prose, film and multi modal presentations
  • Ongoing course work includes presentations/podcasts, class discussions, transformative tasks
  • External assessment based on comparative task and one critical reading (90 minutes exam)
  • ATAR subject (2 bonus points)
