Explore the world from the perspectives of women, and examine the diversity of women’s experiences and their relationships to others. Identify complex and contradictory ideas that exist about femininity and masculinity, and how being a woman or a man may influence an individual’s experiences and expectations.

Course components include:

  • Writing an essay responding to an issue
  • Completing 2 assessment pieces examining women in culture
  • Creating a folio, including 3 tasks that explore a range of historical and contemporary topics
  • Writing an extended essay on a topic to be negotiated with the teacher

Style of learning:

  • Involves individual and group work
  • Classes are held in a supportive, welcoming environment
  • Class discussions
