Northern Adelaide Senior College Research Project students met with Lisa the Librarian this week to understand the importance of citations and how to search effectively and with discernment.

“I emphasise to students on giving credit where credit is due,” says Lisa.

“Students need to be aware of copyright infringements and how to correctly cite where you got your information from so that you are not in breach of copyright.”

“It’s also very important to make sure that you have the correct information so that others may research that particular area in future.”

Lisa has been teaching students how to cite using Harvard referencing, how to identify misleading information on websites, and how to search effectively using Boolean terms.
