Northern Adelaide Senior College teachers work in partnership with support agencies and young mums or expecting parents to help them maintain their studies whilst juggling the daily pressures of caring for a family.
Our Family Learning Centre is a space designed specifically for parents and caters to their needs and the needs of their small children.
Lessons are focused around topics relevant for families and are conducted in a workshop setting, where young babies are present and can be attended to throughout classes.
Our Family Learning programs aim to re-engage and maintain student engagement in education to improve educational and social outcomes for the whole family.
We empower parents to support and value their child’s education as well.
Our programs help re-connect parents to learning and prepare them for future studies, before they embark on a SACE pathway.

Support for young mums
We offer a range of support services for our mums (or mums-to-be), including:
- A midwife available at our antenatal clinic for expecting mums;
- Extra support for young mums through our relationship with the Lyell McEwin Hospital;
- Free crèche facilities to provide a safe, caring and happy learning environment for children aged 1 week to 4 years. Crèche runs during class times and parents are asked to supply nappies and food for their children.
Students must book crèche care in advance to secure a place. To contact the crèche call (08) 7285 1600 or send an email.
